Opioid Crisis
Indiana is facing a medical emergency.
The opioid addiction crisis has been triggered by a number of diverse, ever-changing factors. Solutions to this epidemic have to be well-informed and backed by data.
Data resources that could help in creating and disseminating solutions have been siloed and limited. We’re developing tools that will help doctors look at patients within their broader context – including economic, environmental, and behavioral data alongside their clinical data. We have partnered with Purdue University, Indiana CTSI, and the Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering to help shape our solutions, and we are joined by leaders from the academic, clinical, and nonprofit communities.
This data commons, developed as an answer to Indiana University’s Grand Challenge, will give doctors and other healthcare providers stronger support in fighting the opioid crisis in Indiana and the rest of America.
