Regenstrief Institute conference highlights innovations in public health data modernization

Regenstrief Institute hosted a one-day conference focused on advancing public health data modernization, drawing professionals from across the public health and health data sectors. The event was organized by Regenstrief’s Public Health Informatics program to foster collaboration among health systems, government agencies and research institutions working to improve how health data is collected, shared and used. 

The conference opened with remarks from Regenstrief leadership and featured expert presentations from leaders at IU Health, Eskenazi Health, the CDC Foundation, Marion County Public Health Department, Vanderburgh County Health Department and Regenstrief Institute. In-person attendance sold out, and an additional 60 participants joined virtually, reflecting strong interest from across the public health and health data communities.

Topics covered included the role of standards in supporting data systems, how community health priorities are being driven by data insights and national efforts to improve public health infrastructure through innovation and strategic partnerships.
