Shaun Grannis, M.D., M.S., discusses what the CDC’s VISION Network data shows about vaccine effectiveness in young children.
Transcript:
In the MMWR paper, we looked at pediatric vaccinations, looking at the effectiveness of vaccines in young children aged six months to four years. What that study showed was that finishing the COVID-19 vaccine primary series helped to protect against COVID-19 related emergency department visits and urgent care visits in children. One or more doses of the updated vaccine we also saw helped provide protection. So not only does the complete series help reduce the rate of visits to the ER or urgent care, getting at least one also does provide some protection.
