Dr. Malaz Boustani, M.D., MPH, discusses using community forums in search of innovative solutions to violence.
Transcript:
I am a resident of Central Indiana. I am a father in Central Indiana. I am a worker in Central Indiana. And violence in Central Indiana is priority for me. Even though I’m a geriatrician, some of my patients who are older adults are victims of violence. The second thing I’m very interested in is using AGILE science and its derivatives, like the innovation forum, as a method to solve problems for humans in general — specifically, here, the violence epidemic in Indianapolis. I felt the tools, processes and strategies that we have built on the foundation of AGILE science to tackling dementia, tackling depression, tackling mild cognitive impairment … that they can be carried on and help beyond the geriatric population that I work on.
