Registration Open for LOINC Summer Laboratory Conference at Regenstrief

LOINC Summer Conference

Registration is now open for the LOINC® Summer Laboratory Conference at Regenstrief Institute on June 5-6. LOINC users from around the world will be in Indianapolis to take part in the event that features hands-on workshops and the public Laboratory LOINC Committee Meeting.

LOINC, Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes, is a universal code system for health measurements, observations and documents. The system enables health systems to exchange clinical results, giving providers access to lab results across the continuum of care. About 77,000 users from 175 countries utilize the system. LOINC is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

The laboratory conference provides hands-on learning on how to implement LOINC into health systems. Participants can choose from a number of sessions based on their interests and experience. Some of those sessions include LOINC for Beginners and Mapping Local Panels to LOINC Panels. Workshops are led by LOINC experts and seasoned implementers. Presenters include Clem McDonald, M.D., who led the creation of LOINC, and Daniel Vreeman, PT, DPT, the current LOINC director.

The evening of the first day will include a LOINC Show and Tell Reception to mark notable contributions to the LOINC community. Attendees will also get the chance to mingle and enjoy food and drinks.

The Laboratory LOINC Committee Meeting convenes on the second day. The meeting will cover updates on LOINC adoption and discuss key issues for development and implementation. The committee meeting is free and open to everyone, even if they did not attend the conference.

The deadline to register is May 31.
