There is no health without brain health, and if your clinician does not know that you have a problem with your brain health and that your memory is not working well — your processing speed is not working well — then the primary care clinician cannot help you manage your other conditions. Then it’s not just your brain health that will not be optimized. Your below-the-neck health will not be optimized. Your brain is the most important organ in your body. We cannot transplant your brain, and your only option is to identify any problems in your brain as early as possible so you can potentially reverse it, and by doing so there’s a lot of things we can do for you, and we can help you, but we’re not going to be able to help you if the system doesn’t know you have a brain health problem.
