I nominate Lauren because she has been, and still is, the most supportive supervisor I have ever had. I can go to her with anything, and she will go out of her way, even when she is busy, to help me. Not only does she do that for me she does that with all of Data Core and teams she works with. She makes me feel valued with this company by giving feedback or helping me navigate a situation I haven’t been through before. During the last few years, through all the people who left Data Core and the pandemic, she has stepped up by collaborating with the CORDACO team and has never skipped a beat in her other regular duties. She maintains a positive attitude through thick and thin, and it makes our team feel like it is going to be ok no matter what. She encourages us to attend optional events to help us network and get to know the other members of Regenstrief. In every team meeting, she reminds us that an event is happening at Regenstrief, or on campus that piques our interest or a way to hone our skills more. She is always looking to improve things big and small in our department. She is always learning new thing to improve the speed and quality of pulling data. On a larger scale, she notices how our department is struggling in aspects such as lack of employees and improvements needed in the way we train our people. She helped make my idea of the buddy system a reality. She also spearheaded a better way for the peers to interview candidates. Data Core made the peer interview a more personable experience and allow them to ask questions and we can get to know the candidate on a more personable level. Every interview, we always get told the candidate enjoyed that aspect of the interview. They tell us they felt more comfortable and could feel the culture of our company is very welcoming and collaborative. In my opinion, that makes me feel good because if that candidate passes on the offer, they would be more likely to pass on that information to a friend and gives us another chance to add to Data Core. Lauren also cares about what we provide investigators, by thoroughly reviewing projects and knows the data to be able to say that something may not be right. She will help our team members figure out all possible options to ensure we have covered every base. This helps us not send out data that may not reflect the true result, and makes the investigator feel confident in what we provide them. This helps minimize the possibility of the investigator requesting multiple revisions or causing them to lose trust in our department. She has been very focused on using what she knows to improve our department in so many aspects. Not only that, if we find something that is a better process, she asks us to share with the group or add it to the wiki. She does this to make us feel important and valued. It makes me feel like I am becoming a subject matter expert and a more crucial part of our team. I have learned so much from her. She helps me learn things I didn’t think I would ever learn and listens to us when we have issues so we can collaborate on a good way to solve it. I cannot recommend Lauren enough. She is one of the major reasons I have not thought about other opportunities and helps me want to make Data Core a more quality place to work and produce the best results for our investigators. As soon the email came out for this, I immediately thought of Lauren with no second thought. She deserves this award because her character, knowledge, and determination to help this company grow and thrive for many years to come.
