Brian Dixon

Dr. Brian Dixon is a priceless asset to Regenstrief Institute, having served as an investigator since 2011 and a staff member for 10 years before that. In the past two years, especially, Dr. Dixon has really shone as an epidemiologist and Regenstrief’s director of public and population health informatics. He exhibits a tireless dedication to the mission and values that define the Institute and regularly appears in media – both local and farther reaching – to explain his research in both informatics and health services. Dr. Dixon has been extremely generous with his time when working with my team to schedule news interviews, and as a result, he bears significant responsibility for Regenstrief becoming more of a household name. Despite the fact that Dr. Dixon excels at collaboration, participating in research teams all over the campus, he still has the professionalism and poise to give his full attention to whoever he is working with in the moment. He is a leader and encourager for his direct reports as well as the fellows in the T-15 fellowship program. Finally, Dr. Dixon shows an admirable commitment to bringing about health equity through his work and always demonstrates respect for others. I see his involvement with Institute traditions and new initiatives as essential to continuing to evolve the Institute’s culture, and I wholeheartedly nominated him for this award.
